Sásta in a nutshell, or in a Pod!
Here i go………My first stab at a (hopefully) weekly blog!
So, every day of the week I get asked about sásta. What is it? What do you do there? Sure I don’t need to lose weight…..!
Well here’s the thing- we actually do way more than just weight loss! We have a fine 50-50 split when it comes to our fab clients. Both Weight Loss and Fitness. Everyone has different goals and everyone has different backgrounds. No two people are the same and as my good mother always says “sure if we were all the same wouldn’t it be a boring ol’ world”! And that is the truth!
So what is sásta all about?
We are a small non intimidating Fitness and Weight Loss studio based in the beautiful Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim.
We have 5 Vacuum based treadmill machines (Pods) which have a variety of HIIT(High Intensity Interval Training) programmes aimed at increasing calorie burn and help aid fat burn. Our 30 minute intense sessions are the equivalent of doing a 2 hour walk/jog on the pristine Irish country roads, all due to our patented vacuum technology. Now you might think I just pulled that last sentence out of my posterior but honestly that is the truth. In terms of calories burned on our machine in 30 minutes it is the equivalent of a 1.5 – 2 hour slog on the pristine roads of rural Ireland. Clinical trials were run by Prof. Niall Moyna, Head of Health and Human Performance at DCU and the same man of Operation Transformation fame and those were his findings.
So will I lose weight using the Pods just trying to get fit?
The simple answer is NO!
Weight Loss mainly comes down to your Nutrition. In fact, your dietary habits will form 70-80% of your weight loss. That’s where our packages and plans differ. If you are not looking to lose weight then you maintain your current eating habits and the pods will certainly increase your fitness without a doubt! From a stroll to a jog in a matter of weeks as long as you have the motivation(we can help there!) and drive to push yourself to reach your fitness goals. I have been involved in sport all my life and i have never seen or experienced such amazing results like the Pods in terms of my fitness levels in such a short space of time.
What is the difference with the Weight Loss Package?
The main difference is Nutrition. We have devised a Low GL meal plan to follow during the course of your Weight Loss journey. To lose weight you need to have a caloric deficit-Its pretty simple….. Forget all the faddy diets and weird supplements and plans. It all boils down to good, clean, healthy food. But we all know what we should eat, right??! Well yeah, but sometimes we need a helping hand, some encouragement, someone to help be accountable other than ourselves! We offer all this in terms of support and help and education on your nutrition. There’s no point telling you what to eat if you don’t understand the why? Why do I eat this, why do I need to eat regularly, why do I avoid certain foods……We will give you the answers and help you make better choices.
The rest of it comes down to blood, sweat and tears – mainly sweat thank god!
But that’s not all!……..We have an added extra to our packages with our Body Sculpting programme to help tone up all over and increase your Lean Muscle mass along with feeling strong and flexible and its another great aid to fat burn.
Every week on our Weight Loss plan we do a full Body Composition Analysis and Body Measurements to ensure you are burning fat mass, gaining lean muscle mass, increasing metabolism and shedding the pounds on your journey to a leaner, fitter, healthier you!
